WhatsApp to Introduce Log Out Feature for Smartphone Users

WhatsApp account logout on mobile
Many people exchange important or confidential information via WhatsApp for personal or work-related purposes. However, it’s not possible to log out of a WhatsApp account directly from a smartphone. To solve this issue, WhatsApp is now introducing a feature that will allow users to log out of their account directly from the app.
According to a report by tech website Android Authority, a new feature called “Logout (Internal)” has recently been spotted in the beta version (2.25.17.37) of WhatsApp. Once this feature is rolled out, users will be able to log out directly from the WhatsApp Android app without deleting any existing data. However, Meta has not provided any specific information about when this new feature will be officially released.
According to Android Authority, the WhatsApp account logout feature will be located under the “Delete Account” option in the account settings. When logging out, users will see two options: “Erase all data and preferences” and “Keep all data and preferences.” Choosing the first option will delete all app data and user settings, while the second option will retain them. As a result, users will be able to see all their previous information upon logging back in.
Currently, the web and desktop versions of WhatsApp offer a direct logout option within profile settings, but no such feature exists in the mobile app. As a result, if a smartphone is lost or stolen, there is a risk of compromising not only personal but also important confidential information.
