Using Google Lens, users can easily search online for detailed information by taking a photo or using an image from their phone’s gallery. Now, Google is bringing Google Lens to YouTube Shorts. Once this new feature is rolled out, users will be able to quickly search on Google for information about any scene, object, or landmark they see in a YouTube Shorts video.

According to Google, once Google Lens is integrated into YouTube Shorts, a “Lens” option will appear in the top menu whenever a user pauses any part of a video. By clicking on it and tapping, highlighting, or marking a specific area on the screen, Google Lens will display relevant information about that object or scene. The results will appear as an overlay on top of the video, so users won’t need to pause and perform a separate search.

Google has already rolled out the Google Lens feature to select users. During this experimental phase, no ads are being shown in the Lens search results. However, the feature will not work on Shorts that include YouTube Shopping affiliate links or paid promotions.

Google has announced that the upcoming Google Lens feature on YouTube Shorts will include a translation button, allowing users to quickly translate text or captions in videos. This feature will be made available to everyone soon.
