Good News for Gmail Users

Gmail AI Email Summary
Good news for Gmail users. While users could already compose emails automatically using the Gemini chatbot, they will now also be able to view summaries of longer emails. To enable this new feature, Google has already updated Gmail.
In an announcement, Google stated that with the launch of this new feature, a summary card will appear at the beginning of emails, presenting the main points in brief. Users won’t need to click any additional buttons to access this. The goal is to help users quickly understand the essence of long emails. However, users will still have the option to manually view summaries if they prefer.
Gemini was first integrated into Gmail’s side panel in 2023. Since then, it has been used for tasks such as drafting emails, generating suggested responses, and summarizing email threads. With this new update, Gemini can now help users extract key information from emails without reading the entire content.
According to Google, the summary will highlight the main points of each email. If a new reply is added to the thread, the summary will automatically update accordingly. Initially, this feature will only work with emails written in English. Users can enable or disable it through the “Smart Features” section in Gmail settings.
